Filo (fencing)

In fencing , the filo describes a certain type of impact that is supposed to hit the opponent's blade by sliding along .

The filo is a bond joint that has blade contact with the opponent's blade up to the final joint and is pushed to the opponent's nakedness (free surface) by sliding along it (hence also known as a sliding joint).
