Nyazepetrovsk ( Russian: Нязепетровск ) is a city in Chelyabinsk Oblast ( Russia ) with 12,451 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located on the southwest flank of the Middle Urals about 340 km northwest of the Oblast capital Chelyabinsk at the confluence of the Njasja in the Ufa in the river system of the Kama .
Nyazepetrovsk is the administrative center of the raion of the same name .
The city is located on the Kalino (near Tschussowoi ) - Druzhinino - Berdjausch railway line , originally called the West-Ural Railway , which was opened in 1916 .
history
Nyasepetrowsk was established in 1747 in connection with the establishment of the Nyasepetrowski Sawod ironworks by the merchant Pyotr Ossokin (named after the river and the owner's first name) and received city rights in 1944.
