Kussa ( Russian Куса ) is a city in Chelyabinsk Oblast ( Russia ) with 18,792 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located on the western flank of the Southern Urals about 180 km west of the Oblast capital Chelyabinsk at the confluence of the Kussa in the Ai , a left tributary of the Ufa in the river system of the Kama .
Kussa is the administrative center of the Rajons of the same name .
The city is located on the Kalino (near Tschussowoi ) - Druzhinino - Berdjausch railway line , originally called the West-Ural Railway , which was opened in 1916 .
history
Kussa was established in 1778 in connection with the construction of the Kussinski Zavod ironworks and received town charter on January 18, 1943.
