Großkröbitz is a district of the municipality of Milda in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .
geography
The place Großkröbitz is located in the western part of the district and is about 32 kilometers as the crow flies west-southwest of the district town of Eisenberg . The village of Kleinkröbitz is only 300 meters to the east. The trout stream rises between the two districts - a (left) tributary of the Saale barely ten kilometers long .
history
The place was mentioned in 1238 as Krupitz and 1414 as Cropitz and belonged to the castle district of the Leuchtenburg . The noble courtyard with a gate entrance built in the architectural style of the Renaissance was considered an ornament of the place . The church was rebuilt in 1718, and around 1900 there was a font from the previous church in the parish garden.
Until the formation of the unified community of Milda on April 1, 1992, the village represented the community of Großkröbitz together with Kleinkröbitz and Plinz.

The Evangelical Lutheran parish of Großkröbitz is responsible for the parish of the same name in Großkröbitz. These include the towns of Drößnitz with Wittersroda, Pfarrkeßlar, Großkröbitz with Kleinkröbitz, Keßlar with Lotschen, Kottenhain, Meckfeld, Milda, Rodias, Zimmritz.
