Filter ball
The sand in sand filter systems is replaced with filter balls ; especially for swimming pools. They are especially popular in the private sector, as 700 g heavy filter balls correspond to approx. 25 kg filter sand. Filter balls are made of 100% polyethylene and are recyclable. They are often sold under the name "Filterballs" or "Filter Balls".
application
The filter balls are placed in the filter container of a sand filter system instead of sand and thus take over the cleaning of the water.
advantages
Filter balls are 100% recyclable. Since the structure of filter balls is much finer than that of filter sand, the water is cleaned more precisely; Here, dirt particles up to a size of 1.5 μm are filtered - for comparison: filter sand only filters up to approx. 40 μm.
In addition, filter balls filter fats from the water (e.g. residues from sun creams). The balls can be "processed" again in the washing machine at a maximum of 30 degrees, so that nothing prevents them from being used several times.
