Finlayson Palace (2009)

The Finlayson Palace ( Finnish. Finlaysonin palatsi ) is a former industrial house and now a restaurant in Tampere . It is located on the Finlayson site in the center of town.

On behalf of Alexander von Nottbeck , the building was planned in the neo-renaissance style by the architect Lambert Pettersson and completed in 1899.

The palace was built on the site of the former imperial distillery (kruunun viinapolttimo) , which was the residence of the previous owner of the Finlayson textile company , James Finlayson . Between 1910 and 1970 the managers of Finlayson lived in the palace. Since 1979 the building has been used as a conference, training and representation building. The building has served as a restaurant and event location since the mid-1980s.
