Finnish-Ugric Society
The Finnish-Ugric Society ( French Société Finno-Ougrienne; Finnish Suomalais-Ugrilainen Seura) is a Finnish learned society for the study of the Urals - Altaic languages. It was founded in Helsinki (Helsingfors) in 1883 on the initiative of the linguist Otto Donner (1835–1909). The society publishes extensive collections of material, dictionaries, important scientific series and journals.
