Finnmarksløpet
Finnmarksløpet is the northernmost dog sled race in the world.
It has been held annually in Norway near the North Cape since 1980 . The starting point is the city of Alta in the province of Troms og Finnmark . The race takes place in two versions: 500 km for teams of 8 dogs and 1,200 km for teams of 14 dogs. It is notorious for extreme climatic conditions and very bad trails .
