Typical fisherman's house

Fiskerklyngen is the oldest part of Frederikshavn , Denmark .

history

Originally the settlement dates from 1568.

The oldest houses were all half-timbered buildings, e.g. B. Strandgade 6. Most of the houses now are built in the style of the local part of the country: yellow-lime brickwork, red tile roofs and white-lime mortar between the stones. Hollyhocks in the alleys and streets are paved with cobblestones. The houses are from the years 1800 to 1900.

Until the station was relocated there in 1970, the Fiskerklyngen still had a small dinghy port. The boys who grew up there earlier were often fishermen.
