Fixation ( lat. Fixare "fasten", "fix") or fixation stands for:

  • fixing the position or location of a physical object, see stabilization
  • the definition of the state, value, size or information of a system in systems theory, see system
  • Fixation (eye) , the targeted observation of an object
  • Fixation (psychoanalysis) , pausing or getting stuck in a certain development phase in psychoanalysis
