Fláajökull is a slow-flowing, smaller glacier in Iceland on the east side of the glacier- covered Breiðabunga volcano in eastern Iceland .
It is an outlet glacier of the great Vatnajökull glacier . The name is derived from the Icelandic word flár for "slope", "slope" or "sloping surface". Historical names of the glacier are Mýrajökull, Hólmsárjökull and Hólsárjökull.
It is located in Vatnajökull National Park , 40 km by road and 20 km as the crow flies northwest of the small town of Höfn .
