Refugee camp Braunau am Inn

The Braunau refugee camp was a camp in Braunau am Inn , which existed from 1915 to 1919 and housed refugees from Italy .

When the front to Italy was fought over from 1915 onwards, mostly Italians were quartered who were wanted far away from the Italian border. The camp had a school, a steam laundry, several shower baths, a bakery and cow stables including a slaughterhouse. After the end of the war, many refugees returned to their old homeland.
