Wing length
The wing length is a standard measure in the measurement of birds . Despite the name, when measuring the wing length , only the length of the hand wing is determined not the length of the entire wing . The distance from the wrist to the tip of the longest hand swing is measured . The measurement is carried out with the wing on, with the wrist pressed against the stop of a ruler and the hand wing being stretched to the maximum with the thumb and forefinger .
