Gulsin Onay
Gülsin Onay (born September 12, 1954 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish pianist.
Life
Gülsin Onay was born into a family of musicians and began playing the piano at the age of three. Her first teacher was her mother. She gave her first concert on the radio in Istanbul when she was six years old. After her scholarship in Turkey, she took private lessons, after which she traveled to the Paris Conservatory to study . Onay graduated with honors at the age of 16. She won the 1st Prix du Piano. She has also received several prizes in international competitions.
She has given numerous concerts with world-class orchestras in many countries around the world and appears at international festivals. In 1987 she was named state artist and received an honorary doctorate from the Bosporus University in Istanbul.
