Liquid gas storage tanks are pressure vessels in which liquid gas is stored. The gas stored in this way is usually used for heating and cooking purposes.

Liquid gas storage tanks are available in the following versions:

  • above ground
  • semi-underground
  • underground
  • mobile (see gas bottle )

Liquid gas storage tanks are systems that require monitoring and must be checked regularly by an approved monitoring body. The test periods are usually 10 years.

Liquefied gas containers may not be set up in passageways, passageways, stairwells or on the stairs of outdoor facilities, corridors, fire service entrances and emergency exits.

For the installation and operation of such containers, technical rules, in particular the technical rules for operational safety TRBS and the technical rule for liquid gas TRF, must be observed. Liquefied gases are heavier than air, so it is important to ensure during storage that any gas that may escape does not accumulate in lower-lying areas.
