The Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association of the United States , also spelled Flavor & Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA) is an American industrial association based in Washington, DC , which was founded in 1909 as the Flavoring Extract Manufacturers' Association against the background of the Pure Food and Drug Act of Was founded in 1906.

The association publishes a list of fragrances and flavors that are generally recognized as safe , known as FEMA GRAS. The organization has over 100 member companies. She is a member of the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI).
