Flex wheeler

Kenneth Wheeler (called Flex ) (born August 23, 1965 in Fresno , USA ) is an American bodybuilder . In addition to sports, he works as a police officer in his hometown of Fresno. Between 1985 and 2003 he won numerous titles until he had to end his career because of a kidney disease. Among other things, he won the Arnold Classic in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2000 , and in 1993, 1998 and 1999 he was runner-up at Mr. Olympia . In 1994, Flex had a serious car accident and nearly ended up in a wheelchair. Only a year later he started his comeback and won straight away. Another stroke of fate struck Flex in 1999. His kidneys failed. So-called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis was diagnosed.

Despite speculation in the press about the cause of the kidney failure, Wheeler pointed out that the failure was not due to his years of abuse of steroids himself, but was genetic. Wheeler is one of the few bodybuilders with a faulty myostatin gene. After a successful kidney transplant in 2004, after years of steroid use, Flex had to take steroids for the first time without wanting to. However, these were catabolic steroids designed to break down his enormous mountains of muscle.

Wheeler has admitted using steroids since he was 18, which has caused serious health problems.

Wheeler has been a referee since the end of his active career, he is married and has three children.

Wheeler is 1.75 m tall, his competition weight was 110 kg - today it is less than 90 kg.
