Flexure

Flexure (from Latin flectere - to bend) means bend or curvature.

As a technical term, flexure appears both in medicine, when the bend or curvature of an organ is to be named, and in geology. Here it describes an S-shaped bending of rock layers. This occurs when two clods of earth move in different directions without causing major fractures. If there is strong vertical movement, the flexure can turn into a warp .
