Fly bags Heinrich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fliegentüte-Heinrich was the title character of a series of short, silent film comedies that were made between late autumn 1917 and autumn 1918 at Berliner Film-Manufaktur GmbH. Friedrich Zelnik was the producer . The Magdeburg musician and comedian Paul Beckers , who had already embodied the character on stage and later on the gramophone record, also did this in front of the camera.

background

"Fly bags Heinrich" is the name of a man who, as an outpatient trader, tries to make a living by selling fly bags, paper cones prepared with glue for catching flies. The figure goes back to a Magdeburg city original and was very popular. She was known even in America.

The "Fliegentüte-Heinrich" films were between one and three acts long. The first episode with the title “Der Fliegentüten-Heinrich” was censored for the first time in November 1917, the last in autumn 1918. Except for the episode of “Fliegentüten-Othello”, which Carl Boese directed, it is no longer known who the Directors were. There is no news (at the moment) about the other actors either.

Beckers' involvement has not been confirmed in two “Fliegentüte-Heinrich” comedies that were made after 1920 in another production.
