Weird Truth Productions is a Japanese independent and extreme doom metal label founded by Makoto Fujishima in 1999 .
history
Makoto Fujishima founded Weird Truth Productions to release a split EP of his Nyarlathotep project with Woods of Gnome / Hurosoma . Originally Fujishima initiated the label to exclusively publish its own band projects and without a more in-depth concept. After the split EP, Weird Truth Productions released a number of compilations, including The True Ideal Realized through the Underground Pt.2 , as part of a series in which various independent labels in Japan were involved.
In 2002 the label released The Dawning of Mournful Hymns by Mourning Beloveth . With this release began the international perception of the label as a significant and high quality Doom Metal label. Fujishima admits to having turned more and more to the style after this album, but also refers to representatives of Thrash Metal , Death Metal and Depressive Black Metal which were distributed by Weird Truth Productions.
