Mourning Beloveth is an Irish death doom band . The band has existed since 1992 and mostly plays very slow, long songs with melodically oriented lead guitars. The vocals are a mixture of harmonious, clear male vocals and deep growling .

history

Mourning Beloveth were founded in the winter of 1992, but did not record their first, untitled demo until 1996. Members at the time were Darren Moore (vocals), Frank Brennan (guitar), Brian Delaney (bass) and Tim Johnson (drums). This demo was recorded in eight hours (with future bass player Adrian Butler at the desk). Butler soon took over bass in the band and Delaney switched to guitar. With this line-up they finally recorded their second demo in 1998, entitled Autumnal Fires . An extensive tour of Ireland followed. In May 1999 Mourning Beloveth Cathedral supported as the opening act . As part of this, over 1200 pieces of the Autumnal Fires Demo were sold.

Mourning Beloveth recorded their debut album Dust in the Academy Studios (arranged and produced by Mags). In March 2001 Mourning Beloveth received numerous positive reviews in established magazines and because of this success they were able to play several concerts with Cradle of Filth . Then they were back on the road across Ireland.

Towards the end of summer through winter 2001, they began songwriting for their next album. In February eight songs were written and six of these were finally selected for the album and recorded in the Academy studios from April 20 to May 5, 2002 (again with Mags at the desks). The work entitled The Sullen Sulcus had six songs and a length of over 65 minutes and was released in December 2002 on the Aftermath Music label.

The Irish label Sentinel Records re-released Dust in 2002 with a new artwork, a new song from the current recordings and the song Forever Lost Emeralds taken from the Autumnal Fires demo and had the album remastered by Stuart Anstis. The label also released a Picture 7 ", which includes a split between Mourning Beloveth and Lunar Gate. Mourning Beloveth contributed the song Part 1 to the 300-piece limited record , which is now also on the limited 2-CD version of the current work A Murderous Circus can be found.

The The DOOMination of Europe tour, which took place from 7 to 21 February 2004 was mainly the promotion of The Sullen Sulcus . Mourning Beloveth completed this tour through Europe together with Morgion (USA) and The Prophecy (UK). Shortly thereafter, in August 2004, a 24-gig tour of America took place, together with Morgion, The Prophecy and Unearthly Trance .

The album A Murderous Circus was produced in the Klangschmiede Studio E by Markus Stock and released in late March 2005 on the German label Grau , with which several albums had been signed. The limited edition, which comprises two CDs, contains two bonus tracks (Disintegrate, Part 1) and four live recordings that were recorded in Vera (Groningen / Holland) in 2004.

A Disease For the Ages followed in 2008 , but with Brendan Roche instead of Adrian Butler on bass.
