Brzeg Air Base
The airbase Brieg was an air base of the Air Force of the Armed Forces near the Lower Silesia Brzeg .
history
The air base was rebuilt between 1936 and 1937. Seven hangars were built in the north; one very large and one large repair hangar and four large and one medium aircraft hangar. There were also other farm and accommodation buildings here. Reconnaissance Group 113 was the first airborne unit to be stationed here from October 1936. Various schools of the Luftwaffe, especially for reconnaissance pilots ( 1st group of Nahaufklärungsgeschwader 102 ), were located here until 1945 .

On January 22, 1945, Soviet troops occupied the area of the air base. Since 1945 Brzeg, which was renamed Brzeg, belongs to the Polish Opole Voivodeship . The Soviet air force used the airfield until it was handed over on March 17, 1993. In the meantime, there is no more flight operations here and the airfield is partially built over.
