Gabbert Air Base

The airbase Gabbert was an air base of the Air Force of the Armed Forces near the Pomeranian Gabbert .

history

The air base was first used in August 1939. A large, circular area covered with grass served as a runway. In the north-west there was a middle repair hangar and behind it in the forest accommodation barracks. From 1940 the air base served to train pilots. In addition, various aviation schools were located here until 1942. The following table shows a list of selected active flying units (excluding school and supplementary associations) that were stationed here between 1939 and 1944.

The place has been called Jaworze since 1945 and is located in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
