Diego Casas , full name Diego Mateo Casas López , (born March 4, 1995 in Vichadero ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.80 meter tall offensive player Casas completed a league game (no goal) in the top Uruguayan division for the Uruguayan first division team River Plate Montevideo in the 2012/13 season . At Apertura 2013 he was promoted to the top division squad on a permanent basis. He played 13 more games in the Primera División in the 2013/14 season and scored two goals. He also played in three games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . In the 2014/15 season he was used five times (no goal) in the Primera División. For Apertura 2015, there is only one league appearance (no goal). At the beginning of February 2016 he was loaned to the second division club Villa Española , where he played 14 second division games (six goals). After the subsequent promotion, he completed ten first division games (no goal) in the 2016 season. Relegation was missed, however, and he continued his career with first division club Juventud in January 2017 . In the 2017 season, he was at the club from Las Piedras 13 times (one goal) in the league. After the Torneo Intermedio, he moved to Sportivo Luqueño in Paraguay in mid-July 2017 .

National team

Casas is part of Uruguay's U-20 squad . At the beginning of July 2012 he was called to a training course for the U-20s by his coach Juan Verzeri . In March 2014, the new U-20 coach Fabián Coito nominated him for his first 30-player training course squad. In the two games against Paraguay on May 20 and 22, 2014, he came on as a substitute in the 78th minute of play for Jaime Báez and in the 70th minute of the game for Maximiliano Pérez . He did not manage to score a personal goal. He was reappointed to the training course in mid-July 2014. On September 24, 2014, he made his next international appearance in a 1-0 win over Peru.
