Maximiliano Pérez , full name Elbio Maximiliano Pérez Azambuya , (born October 8, 1995 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.80-meter-tall offensive player Pérez comes from the youth department of the Uruguayan first division club Defensor Sporting . In the 2014/15 season he was part of the extended squad of the professional team. He was not used in the Primera División , but was on August 31, 2016 for the first time in the matchday squad of a first division game. In January 2017, he moved to Boston River on loan within the league . There he made his debut on February 25, 2017 in the 0-1 home defeat against Racing Club de Montevideo in the top Uruguayan league when he was substituted on by coach Alejandro Apud in the 77th minute for Federico Pintos . During the current 2017 season he has so far (as of March 10, 2017) completed two top division games (no goal) and one encounter (no goal) in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana .

National team

Pérez has been a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team , overseen by coach Fabián Coito , since at least March 2014 . On May 22, 2014, he was in the starting line-up in the 1-0 defeat against Paraguay. He also played the international match against Peru on September 22, 2014.
