Flit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Flit or flow control digit (also flow unit ) is a term from router and network technology and describes the elementary data packet of flow control .

Explanation

For more efficient and simpler handling, individual packets in a packet-switched network are divided into smaller units of equal size, the flits, which are then usually saved and sent individually and in one piece .

For physical transfer, flits can be further divided into so-called physical transfer units or phits .
