The Florence Rock is a 160 m long cliff rock off the south coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is 1.3 km southwest of Cape Anderson . Another and smaller cliff rises up from its northeastern end.
Participants of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) under the direction of polar explorer William Speirs Bruce mapped and named the rock. The further background of the naming is not known.
