Florika Fink-Hooijer

Florika Fink-Hooijer (* 1962 in Darmstadt ) is a German civil servant at the European Commission and has been Director General of the Interpreting DG since June 1, 2016 .

Florika Fink-Hooijer studied law at the Universities of Lausanne and Bonn as well as the Vrije Universiteit Brussel with a master’s degree in 1988. She received her doctorate in 1989 from the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation with immediate termination in copyright law.

After brief work for law firms, she joined the European Union in 1990. Here she held numerous positions, including a. From 1999 to 2000 she was head of cabinet of the Commissioner for the Internal Market Frits Bolkestein and from 2010 to 2012 of Commissioner Kristalina Georgiewa . From 2012 to 2016 she was Director in the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Response (DG ECHO).
