A fin wall , also membrane wall called, is a made of pipes assembled wall of a water tube boiler that the combustion chamber and / or the radiation trains encloses. This construction takes its name from the fact that a metal web, the "fin" (or "membrane"), is welded between adjacent tubes . These fins make the wall impervious to smoke gas and the heat from the smoke gas is conducted to the pipe through which water flows inside. The tube usually belongs to the evaporator and ends (with circulation boilers) at the top in the steam drum . This design makes it possible to have high furnace temperatures in the combustion chamber, which can be up to 1200 ° C.
