Local residents organize the trips with their private vehicles if necessary. An entry visa can be applied for directly at the airport upon arrival.
The airport has a concrete runway 1633 m long. It is served by Lao Airlines several times a week . The US Air Force also used the airport to search for people missing from the Vietnam War .
