Company history
The company was founded in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1890 under the name Rudolph Fluor & Brothers . In 1924 the company name changed to Fluor Brothers Construction Company . In the 1920s, the company gained experience in the oil and natural gas market and in the following years became a major supplier in the construction of oil refineries.
In the 1940s, the company built refineries in Canada , Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia . After the Second World War , the construction of nuclear power plants began and an air force base was built on Dhahran for the US Air Force .
In the 1960s, Fluor Corporation built petroleum refineries in South Korea , specializing in the offshore sector . In the following decade, Daniel International Corporation was acquired and the company name changed to Fluor Daniel . In the 1990s, ADP and Marshall Contractors were acquired.
In December 2015 fluorine announced the Dutch plant manufacturer Stork for 695 million euros of Arle Capital Partners to take over.
