Field damage is damage caused , for example, by game , military exercises or force majeure in fields , pastures , forests or other areas used for agriculture or horticulture . Ground damage is to be distinguished from property damage .

In a figurative sense, disadvantages of any kind, which arise from an often thoughtless action and have a far-reaching, negative effect, are referred to as ground damage (sometimes also jokingly). See also: Accompanying damage
