In December 2010 Lufthansa made another attempt to offer Internet access in its long-haul aircraft with its FlyNet 2.

In cooperation with Panasonic and Deutsche Telekom , travelers can initially use the Internet on selected connections between Europe and North America. Broadband applications with up to five Mbit / s should also be possible via a satellite connection, but VoIP calls are prevented. According to the company, all Airbus A330-300 , Airbus A340-300 , Airbus A380 , Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 747-8 aircraft were gradually being equipped with FlyNet by the end of 2012 . This makes Lufthansa the first airline in the world to offer Internet across its entire long-haul fleet.

As Lufthansa announced in June 2016, all Airbus A-320 aircraft are to be equipped with FlyNet 2 by summer 2018 . This means that Internet access is also offered on short and medium-haul flights.
