The TKh49-1 Ferrum 47 was a Polish steam tender locomotive . It was built at Fablok .
history
The locomotive is based on a design from 1927 to 1929, when Fablok built six machines with the factory designations T1A and T2A. The technical documentation survived the war and it was decided to develop a new machine from it. Between 1948 and 1961 477 locomotives were delivered, including a. to China , Romania , Hungary . These were named FERRUM 724. In 1993 one machine is said to have been in service in China. The PKP did not take over any machines of this type, they were used in factory traffic.
Museums
Two locomotives have been preserved in the museum : TKh49-1 in the Museum of Vehicles and Railway Technology in Chabówka and TKh 05353 at the Railway Friends in Wroclaw. The latter is currently the only operational machine of this series in Poland. Three more have been preserved in other museums. One machine is a locomotive monument in Toruń and some machines are used on foreign museum railways. Two machines each went to the Spa Valley Railway , Northampton & Lamport Railway , North Norfolk Railway and one each to the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society , Bridgend Valleys Railway . One machine went to Sweden as a monument locomotive .
