Follicle (from Latin folliculus "leather sack, sheath, sleeve") stands for:
- Ovarian follicle , folliculus ovaricus , follicles in the ovary
- Hair follicle , folliculus pili or hair follicle , hair sheath that surrounds the hair root like a sack
- Tooth follicle , folliculus dentis or tooth sac , connective tissue that surrounds the tooth system
- Lymph follicles , folliculus lymphaticus, or lymph nodes
- Thyroid follicle , which stores the thyroid hormones or colloids formed
