Foncia is a French company specializing in real estate and property management. With 500 agencies across France, the company has been the largest French property manager since 2008. In mid-2018, Foncia managed 836,000 co-owned apartments and 350,000 rented apartments. Foncia is also represented on the German, Swiss and Belgian markets. 1.7 million private customers are registered on its website.

history

Foncia was founded in 1972 by Jacky Lorenzetti (originally under the name "Franco Suisse Gestion"), who had previously studied at the hotel school in Lausanne. The fortune of Jacky Lorenzetti and his family is (as of 2007) 350th among French fortunes. The family still holds around 7% of the shares in Foncia after it was sold to Banques Populaires in 2007 for around € 1.3 billion.

  • IPO (second market) in 2001
  • Foncia has grown largely through acquisitions (approx. 100 offices between 2004 and 2007) and developed a policy of centralization which, according to the newspaper Le Monde, has created an “oppressive social climate”.
  • In 2007, Foncia implemented a corporate policy in favor of training in cooperation with the International ESC PAU Institute for Real Estate, which extends to all real estate professions
  • Foncia was bought by the Banque Populaire group of companies in 2007 .

  • The main business purpose is to manage on behalf of the investing owners, manage co-ownership, rent and do the real estate brokerage for buying and selling.
  • Foncia also specializes in the sale and rental of business premises, offices and shops as well as in the management of real estate stock corporations with listed shares (Real Estate Investment Trust, abbreviated as REIT).
