Rivières Foundation (Canada)

The Rivières Foundation is a nature conservation foundation in Québec , Canada , with the aim of keeping rivers in their original state and protecting them from being blocked by many small, private hydropower plants .

The Fondation Rivières (English: Rivers Foundation ) is a non- governmental and non-profit organization and was founded in November 2002. Presidents are Alain Saladzius and the actor Roy Dupuis , who is also a co-founder of the organization. Michel Gauthier was General Manager until 2008.

Education is intended to awaken people's sense of responsibility to respect nature and preserve it for future generations. The aim is to awaken the awareness to use energy more carefully and to make increased use of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy or geothermal energy .

The Fondation Rivières 2006 conference took place on June 12th and 13th, 2006. It was z. B. Marilou Brousseau's French book Eau De Vie , which can also be ordered in Canada (Monde Different, April 2006, ISBN 2892256046 ). Various Canadian artists have written on the subject of water . Roy Dupuis wrote the foreword. Online auctions are also held to raise funds. In 2007, the Rivers Foundation Conference, an event for fans, was held in Montréal from June 14th to 15th. On November 16, 2007, the company celebrated its fifth anniversary at a charity event in Montréal.
