An informal letter or an application is a possibility to bring a request to authorities , offices, insurance companies, banks, craftsmen, mail-order companies or to landlords, employers, etc. or to make a notification if no form is provided for this .

An informal letter is usually a letter , the design of which can be freely chosen. However, it must necessarily contain the personal data required by the recipient.
