Fort Gordon

Fort Gordon is a military base of the US Army in Augusta (Georgia) .

The facility has existed since 1917 and is named after John Brown Gordon . From 1917 to 1942 it housed the 82nd US Infantry Division , and at times also the military police .

Today the US Army Signal Corps is mainly stationed there. The site is occupied by around 30,000 people.
