The Fort de Nogent is a fortress in Fontenay-sous-Bois near Paris .

The fort was completed in 1848 under the direction of Guillaume Dode de la Brunerie and was part of the Thiers town fortifications . During the German siege of Paris (1870–1871) it was not conquered until France surrendered.

After the coup in the Algerian war in 1961 officers of the 1st régiment étranger de parachutistes were held here.

Today the fort is used as a recruiting site for the Foreign Legion .
