At the Arnold Classic 2011 Abiad caused a stir by not coming on stage when he was called. In retrospect it was announced that he had already gone home. He then apologized to his sponsors and fans via Twitter and Facebook. His reason for not appearing was that he had made mistakes in the preparation. Among other things, he had "sold out" while shopping and bought an over-salted meat, in addition, his preparation was negatively influenced by an injury to the adductor . In the Arnold Classic 2013 he reached a disappointing 10th place again, he saw the judges responsible for this. At the IFBB's Toronto Pro Super Show 2013 , he finished second behind Victor Martinez .
