Founders Brewery
The Founders Brewery is a family brewery in New Zealand Nelson .
The Founders Brewery belongs to a New Zealand association of craft brewers . These are microbreweries that brew beer in the traditional way. The focus is on craftsmanship and quality instead of quantity. For this reason, these beers are usually only available locally to a limited extent.
history
The brewery was founded in 1854 by JR Dodsen, who immigrated from Australia to New Zealand. Today John Duncan is the head of the family and the fifth generation of brewers. His son Matt brewed his first beer ( Fair Maiden Ale ) very successfully in November 2006 , and it won an award straight away.
