The cargo shipping is the umbrella term for the transport of goods in inland and maritime shipping . It is carried out with cargo ships .

The latter distinguishes between line and tramp shipping . While liner shipping operates according to fixed timetables on specified routes, tramp shipping is based on trips based on supply and demand. The shipping mode of transport is particularly suitable for bulk goods , containers and heavy goods .
