Francisco Nicolás González Díaz (born September 10, 1966 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican diplomat. Since 2010 he has been Mexico's ambassador to Germany , based in Berlin.

life and work

Francisco González studied business administration at the Autonomous Technical Institute in Mexico City. He then earned masters degrees from the Monterrey University of Technology, Mexico City campus, and the University of Texas at Austin .

From 1991 to 2001 he worked in private and public finance, in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Promotion and in the Ministry of the Interior. From 2002 to 2008 he held the office of the commercial council for Germany, Central and Eastern Europe of the Mexican foreign trade bank BANCOMEXT in Frankfurt am Main. From 2008 to 2010 he was regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the commercial agency ProMexico, Investment and Trade in Frankfurt.

On June 25, 2010, González was accredited as Mexican Ambassador to Germany . He is honorary president of the German-Mexican Society. González was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Komtur).

González is married and has three children.

In July 2013, González was ordered back to Mexico and now holds the office of global director general for the ProMexiko agency.
