Francisco Peña Romero , called Paco Peña , (born July 25, 1978 in Jerez de los Caballeros ) is a Spanish football player who plays for Hércules Alicante in the Spanish Segunda División .

Player career

The beginnings

Paco Peña started his career as a footballer at FC Jerez , where he played from 1997 to 1999. He then moved to the Segunda División , where he played for Levante UD for a total of three years . In the first two years the team stayed in the middle of the table, but in the 2001/02 season Levante almost relegated to the third division.

Albacete

For this reason, Paco Peña went to league rivals Albacete Balompié in 2002 . In the same year he rose to the first division with his new team. After a first good season, a weak season followed and thus relegation after only two years of first class. After relegation Albacete threatened to be passed into amateur football. This could just be prevented, but for Paco Peña the time in Albacete was over again.

Real Murcia

In the 2006/07 season he went to second division rivals Real Murcia with whom he achieved promotion to League 1 at the first attempt.
