Francisco Javier Ramírez Acuña (born April 22, 1952 in Jamay , Mexico) is a Mexican politician of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN).

Life

Ramírez Acuña studied law at the Universidad de Guadalajara . He has been a member of PAN since 1969. He was elected to Jalisco State MP in 1974 and re-elected in 1980. Between 1998 and 2000 he was mayor of Guadalajara and then governor of the state of Jalisco (2000-2006).

Under President Felipe Calderón was Ramírez Acuña Secretario de Gobernación (2006–2008). In 2009/2010 he was President of the Mexican House of Representatives .
