Franco Santi

Franco Santi (born December 28, 1967 in the city ​​of San Marino ) is a politician from San Marino, he has been Minister of Health of San Marino since December 27, 2016.

Life

Santi trained as a computer technician and has a degree as an industrial clerk specializing in electronics. From 1991 to 2014 he taught at the upper school. From 2005 to 2010 he was seconded to the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs.

Politics and public offices

Santi was a member of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD) and was a member of the party executive. In 2008 he stood on the list of the PSD in the parliamentary elections, but failed to make it into parliament. Santi was Mayor (Capitano di Castello) of Chiesanuova from 2009 to 2012 .

Santi was one of the founders of Civico 10 in July 2012 , for which he was elected to the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale , in 2012. In the legislative period from 2012 to 2016, Santi was a member of the home and health committee.

In the December 2016 election he was re-elected to the list of Civico 10, who, together with Repubblica Futura and Sinistra Socialista Democratica, formed the coalition adesso.sm, which won an absolute majority in the runoff election on December 4.

In the government formed on December 27, 2016 , Santi became Minister of Health (Segretario di Stato per la Sanità e Sicurezza Sociale, Pari Opportunità, Previdenza e Affari Sociali) .
