Franco Trappoli , (born November 5, 1947 in Orvieto , Italy ) is an Italian politician of the Socialist Party of Italy (PSI). From 1980 to 1983 he was mayor of Fano , a small town on the Adriatic, and was twice elected to the Chamber of Deputies .

Life

Trappoli was born in Orvieto , a town in southwest Umbria in the province of Terni in Italy in 1947 . After graduating from high school in Orvieto, he studied business administration . Because of his religious affiliation with Buddhism , he became very famous in Italy. Trappoli was the first Buddhist MP in Italy.
