Franco Varrella

Franco Varrella (born January 25, 1953 in Rimini ) is an Italian football coach and former football player . He is currently the national coach of San Marino .

Career

Career as a player

In the 1971/72 season he played for Juventus Turin . From 1974 to 1975 he then played for Rimini FC . After the season he ended his playing career at the age of 22.

Career as a coach

In the 1984/85 season he began to work in Serie D as a coach. From 1987 to 1988 he then worked for Pietri Capri . In 1988/89 he coached Forlì and 1989/90 Brescia . For the 1990/91 season he moved to Calcio Monza and for the 1992/93 season to Casertana . In the 1993/94 season he trained again Forlì. In 1996/97 he worked for US Salernitana and then from 1997 to 1999 for Reggiana . In the 1999/2000 season he trained Savoia and Padova in 2000/2001 . For the 2002/03 season he returned to US Salernitana before he again trained Bellaria IM from 2004 to 2006. In 2006/07 he worked for Triestina and from 2007 to 2008 for Ravenna . From 2008 to 2009 he worked for the first time as national coach for San Marino. He has held this office again since 2018.
