Frank (comic)

Frank is a comic book series directed by Jim Woodring .

The title-giving main character Frank appeared for the first time in the comic series JIM , which also comes from Woodring. Frank is an anthropomorphic (humanized) animal of unknown species that experiences mostly surrealist adventures in the textless comics . In 2001 the series was nominated for an Ignatz Award (the award ceremony did not take place at the time because of the terrorist attacks of September 11th ).

In the USA the series is published by Fantagraphics Books . The Frank Book was nominated for an Ignatz Award in 2003 (in the Outstanding Graphic Novel or Collection category ) and an Eisner Award in 2004 (in the Best Graphic Album - Reprint category).

From 1995 to 1999, five Frank books were published by Jochen Enterprises in Germany .
